2018年に開催した京源初の展覧会「KAMON EXHIBITION -家紋とアートの親和性-」では、紋章上繪師としての職人仕事から家紋をベースにしたデザインワークまで、さまざまな作品を展示。パッケージデザインを監修したクリネックスの金の箱をピラミッド状に積み上げたオブジェや、アートワークで紹介した「USARA」で立体的に家紋を表現しました。これまでの京源の軌跡を伝えるとともに、会場となった荒川技研本社のTIERS GALLERYのコンクリートの空間を生かし、家紋の新たな可能性を示唆した展覧会となりました。

The first exhibition of Kyogen, “KAMON EXHIBITION – The Affinity of Kamon and Art –“ was held in April 2018. We had a wonderful opportunity to display our creations, from traditional artisanship as Monsho-uwaeshi to modern designs based on Kamon. In one piece, the golden Kleenex boxes, which Kyogen supervised the package designing for, were stacked up in a pyramid shape. In another, the previously mentioned grand piece of “USARA” successfully demonstrated three-dimensional Kamon. Not only did this exhibition display the history of Kyogen, but we were also able to suggest the potential of Kamon by fully taking advantage of the venue, “TIERS GALLERY” within the headquarters of Arakawa & Co., Ltd., which was a contemporary space with a concrete exterior.
