“ETERNAL – a thousand seconds of silence” was an exhibition at Haneda Airport that was held as part of the initiative by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, called the “Japanese cultural media arts dissemination initiative in airports and other institutions.” The technique of MON-MANDALA®, where a great number of perfect circles are combined to create unique designs, and the digital production by media artist Seiichi Sega collaborated to complete a piece of artistic animation. In this project, simple yet powerful combinations of perfect circles in many sizes harmonized with the beauty of nature, which were then integrated into landscapes such as waves and geographical features that symbolize contingency. The motifs of Qilin (a mythical creature) were arranged on the three massive screens at the venue in Haneda Airport.
