野村不動産が手掛けるホテル「NOHGA HOTEL UENO TOKYO」では空間プロデュースに参画。江戸文化が今も活きる上野という地域性を、４つの家紋を創作して表現。１Fエレベーター前とスイートルームには、その４つの家紋を太鼓鋲でデザインした「Mon × Studs」を展示。ゲストに日本を感じさせ、快適な滞在を予感させる客室カードキーにも家紋を落とし込んだ。紋曼荼羅®で描いたドライヤーバック、各階のエレベーターホールに掛けられた紋曼荼羅アート作品は、上質な空間を演出する。ホテルを象徴するNOHGA紋デザイン4種/ドライヤーバッグを波戸場承龍がデザインし、館内ピクトグラム/英数字フォント/避難経路図を波戸場耀次がデザインさせて頂きました。全てのデザインは家紋のデザイン手法と同じく「円と直線」を巧みに組み合わせて、極限までシンプルに、尚且つ視認性を確保するデザインに仕上げました。

NOHGA HOTEL UENO TOKYO

Kyogen was involved in the spatial designing of “NOHGA HOTEL UENO TOKYO.” Four unique pieces of Kamon were created to express the regional characteristics of Ueno where the Edo culture is still vibrant. Displayed in front of the elevators on the ground level as well as on the wall of the suite room is a piece of artwork, “Mon × Studs” (see left) which represents the above noted four Kamon using Taiko-byo (hemisphere-shaped decorative studs). These Kamon are also placed on room key cards in order to give a relaxing first impression to guests and project the elegant Japanese atmosphere. A variety of MON-MANDALA® artworks including the design-drawing on hair dryer bags and paintings on the wall of the elevator lobbies compliment the elegant space of the hotel. The interior pictograms and design of the emergency evacuation route signs were also produced by Kyogen.
